Barcelona: an inspiring city AND fabric collection

The Mediterranean Sea, one of the most naturally beautiful sites I've seen.

I was brought back to this lovely place upon finding the new spring/summer 2010 designer's guild barcelona collection.  The color combos and cool geometric curves, not to mention the collection name, brought me back to the wonderful city of Barcelona, Spain.  My husband and I were given the amazing opportunity to live abroad for 6 months and we were fortunate enough to travel to a few locations, Barcelona being one.  Here's a little of what we saw on our weekend excursion along with some fabric swatches and gallery photos that I hope will bring you to a happy place, as it did me.

Will you be my Valentine?

I've been transformed from a pink girl to a red girl.  Let me explain. Having grown up in the States, all little girls love pink or learn to love pink.  I think the exact opposite is taught to European girls; red is where it's at! I couldn't agree more.  I've always had a love/hate relationship with the color pink. Being inspired by this new revelation, I set out to make handmade valentine's card for this years day of love.  For all things pink, red, or of roses...

So what's your type? Pink or red?

Captivating fine living, home, and life.

I absolutely love it when I hear of new unique shops, and my aunt, who lives in Salem, did just that for me today.  Being a visual display designer herself, she loves all things VISUAL that deliver eye candy, as do I.  She sent me an email with a link to a shop sitting close to Salem in Seattle, WA. Sitting there is a series of shops known as Watson Kennedy.  Since their opening in 1998, the store has successfully been able to open two more locations besides the original in Pike Place Market. After being smitten by what this company has to offer, I knew I had to share. We can all give thanks to Aunt Charlotte.  Enjoy!

This lovely shade of green has me in the mood for a
sundress and a glass of iced cold lemonade.
